Dive Instructor Course Koh Tao

Dive Instructor Course Koh Tao

PADI Instructor Development Course

Davy Jones Locker is a 5 star PADI CDC Resort and our Platinum rated Course Director Team of Peter Nieuwhof & Guy Corsellis put in additional work beyond the basics required of the IDC course to ensure that all of their candidates have the best possible chance to pass their Instructor course.

This starts even before you arrive on Koh Tao as with recent changes to the PADI Divemaster course there is a knowledge gap which has become evident between the Divemaster and Instructor course and so before you arrive we will send you out some additional materials to help bridge this gap.

If you are also taking your Divemaster course with us though you don't need to worry about this as we teach a more expansive Divemaster course than is required to meet the basic requirements to achieve the Divemaster qualification. Then another additional service that Peter provides is a 2 day IDC Prep course where Peter will run through various skill and knowledge assessments so that he can determine which areas to focus on for each student during their Instructor course. This of course means that you get a more personalised service for your IDC and as a result more value for money.

Here on Koh Tao we run the Dive Instructor course every month contact us for details of the course dates or check the our IDC schedule here.

The IE dates are issued each year by PDive Instructor Course Koh TaoADI once they determine the schedule for their examiners as they moderate the Instructor Exams all throughout the Asia Pacific region, so Australia, Philippines, Indonesia etc as well as here in Thailand. This is done to ensure that standards are maintained for all PADI Dive Instructor courses.

But, diving on EANx36 (36% oxygen) gets you 35 minutes of no decompression time - what almost doubles your no decompression limit!

The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty certification emphasizes the theoretical and operational considerations involved with enriched air diving, how to get an enriched air fill and how to correctly analyse it.
